Random Car Stuff

Driving through a whiteout in Vermont, Colin chose to "Canadian park" the van instead of rear-ending the guy in front of him. While he'd like to blame this on the @#$%^ idiot in front of him not understanding that a 15-passenger van can't stop as fast as a sedan, everyone knows that the car in back is always at fault in this situation. Lucky for us, a local farmer had a monster tractor with chains to tow us out of the ditch ... gotta love Vermont!

Yeah Karla!!

The Story
One peaceful night at ski camp Karla prepared to make her inevitable call to the Temple of Tom. Since we had no phone, she ventured out into the night snow along with Colin and the cabin's trash. As she backed down the flat driveway, flooring the gas pedal as her adrenaline surged with her anticipation of the comfort of Tom's voice, she neglected to notice the slight curve in the driveway. Her car struck the snowbank at near 20 miles per hour and proceeded to crash up onto it, to the point where the car's rear tires were not even touching the ground any longer. The car was finally unseated from its perch when all 10 ski campers pushed on it, but not before Karla's ignominy was captured and eternally preserved on the web.

In the words of Tom:
"My car turned into a monster truck as the pipe coming out of the exhaust manifold decided to become disconnected... nothing a little rope, wire and bungie cords couldn't fix while jacked up in the ditch off the thruway while tractor trailers blazed by at 70 mph. Never realized a little 2.3 liter engine could make so much noise without any exhaust system."

On the way up I-81, with Ian and Linnea in the car, the pounding ghetto stylings of Snoop Dogg tricked Craig into an overly aggressive exit ramp approach, with these lovely results. Craig's description of the accident included the phrase, "maybe I could have driven it out," which is clearly contradicted by this picture. At least there were no oncoming logging trucks...this time!
